Druss a commencé à apprendre le piano à l'âge de sept ans à l'académie de musique de Soignies. A l'âge de treize ans, Druss a été interdit de poursuivre ses cours de piano parce qu'il boycottait les cours de solfège ayant compris comment fonctionnait le solfège. De façon totalement autodidacte, il découvre alors le Jazz et plus particulièrement le Blues et le Boogie...Il donnera son premier concert dans le célèbre "Os à Moëlle" à Bruxelles à l'âge de dix-sept ans... et à partir de ce moment, il n'arrêtera plus de jouer avec de plus en plus de succès...
Druss began learning piano at the age of seven at the music academy in Soignies. At the age of thirteen, Druss was banned from continuing his piano lessons because he boycotted music theory lessons having understood how music theory worked. Completely self-taught, he discovered Jazz and more particularly Blues and Boogie... Son premier concert à l'Os à Moëlle étant un succès, Druss décida de poursuivre sa découverte du blues et du boogie avec des compositions de plus en plus complexes. En même temps, avec son frère Djo (Philippe), ils découvrent le Jazz New-Orleans et crée le groupe "Dixie Boat New-Orleans Jazz Band". Ce groupe à ses débuts s'est complété avec un jeune batteur Léonce Collet et surtout l'arrivée d'une jeune tromboniste : Phil Abraham, originaire de La Louvière. Lorsque Phil quittera le band pour se tourner vers un Jazz plus élaboré, plus moderne, c'est Jean-Pol Danhier qui lui succédera...Ce projet s'arrêtera brutalement le 13 juillet 1978 avec la mort accidentelle de Djo dans l'explosion du camping de "Los Alfaquez" (Espagne)...

En 1976, Druss découvre et commence à comprendre le jeu extraordinaire des pianistes Fats Waller, Erroll Garner, Oscar Peterson et Count Basie...il rêve alors de créer un trio qui jouera toujours du boogie mais surtout du swing...un autre frère de Druss : Pit , guitariste rythmique amateur, souhaite rejoindre nos projets en se proposant d'apprendre la contrebasse...Druss rencontrera le batteur Rony Cuningham qui acceptera de venir dans ce nouveau projet. Le Trio sera nommé par les étudiants du campus universitaire de Louvain-la-Neuve "les Babelibab's "...Le trio jouait beaucoup sur le campus et terminait son concert par le "Hey Ba Ba Re Bop" de Lionel Hampton que les étudiants adoraient...
Le Trio sortira fin 1978 un disque souvenir suite au décès de Djo et puis , en 1979, le Babelibab's Trio sortira son premier LP...dans les années 1980, le nom du Trio se simplifie en "Babs Trio" et le batteur Rony Cunningham laisse sa place à Boule Cosy et l'enregistrement Live d'un double LP sur la Rolls Royce des pianos : un piano Fazioli...

The Trio released a souvenir record at the end of 1978 following the death of Djo and then, in 1979, Babelibab's Trio released its first LP...in the 1980s, the name of the Trio was simplified to "Babs Trio" and the drummer Rony Cunningham leaves its place to Boule Cozy and the Live recording of a double LP on the Rolls Royce of pianos: a Fazioli piano...
